Tanking for Tua

The Titan's season hopes and need for a QB next year will ride squarely on Mariota's shoulders. He is on his 5th coordinator in 5 years (I think) and If he misses any games that will be 5 for 5 as far as missing games in a season. If he gets hurt or plays crappy, I believe the Titan's will be at the bottom of the league. Will they be dead last, I doubt it, but who knows. There will be a lot of good QBs in next years draft IMO. I believe the Clemson kid may go, Frohm (spelling?) may go, Tua will go, Jalen Hurts may go, as well as Jacob Eason, and a couple of others. I'm probably missing a few. I'm thinking next year will be a good QB year.

My issue is I don't think it is a good idea to put a rookie in, in their first year. I know it has worked in some cases, but overall the results are not good, so if the Titan's do go with a QB in round one next year I guess will ride Tannehill as long as we can... I don't know how i feel about that.

I know this could change, but here is what a quick search turned up....I don't know much about Pac 12 schools and only mentioned Eason, because he started at GA. I guess Hurts is not projected to come out or is not in the top 15, according to this.

TUA is a fabulous quarterback no doubt and has put up the Stats for ALABAMA. But there is a uncertainty about his fragile nature on the field that I am sure that the NFL will be looking at . Ive called him out on it repeatedly. No one wants another Tony Romo. I would think this year will be his make or break year to prove he has it or he does not.

As for Hurts... Just about everyone has dumped on him at one time or the other and called him a average quarterback at best and people have said he would not even be a average quarterback if it was not for the smoking hot Oline at ALABAMA. There have even been talks that he might get drafted in a different position in the NFL given his size and speed. He is a super fast runner. So there is that.

I wish Hurts all the best. He did a us well at ALABAMA and we owe him gratitude. Would love to see him do well this season and love to see him make it in the NFL draft. Time will tell.

Tua's numbers against top 20 ranked defenses are very bad. His numbers came from weaker teams.
