Tennessee/FAU

Can't blame Barnes for this one.

As said, this was the ceiling. Beating Duke was nice.

We need more consistent scorers.

It's all relative right? Way we staggered into the NCAA, reaching the second weekend almost seemed like a pipe dream. Then you see how the first weekend shakes out and we've got a real shot. But, we reverted to our unexplainable, mind blowing, cosmic level inconsistencies.
This was a bad match up and it was evident in the number of open looks they got in the first half. We over committed to helping on the drives and they finally knocked a few down and our offense checked out entirely and there you have it.

I'll miss a lot of these seniors especially Santi. The way that kid improved his all around game has been fun to watch. Lots of bright spots particularly Mashak. He didn't light up the stat sheet tonight but that kid was the most aggressive offensive player tonight (and several nights the last few weeks) and he has really improved.

Was a good game. I feel like UT got frustrated at about the 10 minutes mark left in the game. They gave up some silly fouls. And never really recovered. But FAU isn't there by accident.

Barnes is the Mark Richt of basketball…will never get it done.

Maybe so. But, he's the best coach TN has ever had, and his success at a football school has been unprecedented.

Pearl resurrected the program, but he never could punch through the NCAA ceiling either. At least with Barnes we know that we won't have to worry about NCAA trouble, or even worse, our players being involved in a murder!

When you lose one of the top point guards in the entire country right before tournament time, it takes some pretty good coaching just to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. I hated to see my Vols lose, but, I pretty much knew when they weren't up more at the half that it likely wasn't going to be their night.

Hate it for my all-time favorite Vol, Vescovi, but, it was a pretty good ride after losing ZZ.
