Tennessee Governor One Shot Turkey Hunt this past Saturday

I Volunteered my HN4 Project farm and as a guide for one of the 25 DAV participating in the event this pass Saturday.
He was a 1st time turkey Hunter and is now hooked.
I hated going the easy route by using a blind and a hen decoy but it is a timed event and he was competing for a pistol. We only have 8 hrs to get his bird and make the 1 hr drive to check it in.
We roosted these birds the night before and was on them since fly down. After agitating the hens, they pulled the Tom right in.
I tried getting him out of strut even by talking loud to him, no luck. Here is a small video of the last 30 sec of the hunt.

Yall done good, I loved the videos from the scouting of the birds getting into it

My hat is off to you, and it always has been with the way you show your generosity to the DAV of America. Kudos to you both and thanks for sharing.

Very nice! Good for you! I participated in that hunt as well but my guy did not have nearly the result you did! Congratulations!

Thanks guys. I've already made contact with 2 of the DAV' S that were unsuccessful on the hunt. Going to try and get them both their 1st birds too. This is my 27th season and it might be the 1st time I go bird less helping these guys.
It will all be worth it if it happens that way but I'm not real sure how I will handle it after season ends. Lol
