I wasnt sure if there are any other hobbyist guys on here that tinker like I do with pistols and handguns, but decided to post this anyway in case anyone wanted to 'nerd out' reading about glock stuff.
I put some red dots on two 'not-glock' brand aftermarket slides that came with red dot mounting cuts in the slides.
I did this because I dont want to have my original glock slides cut for optics in case I dont like them. Im still really an iron sight guy from the 1980's, but try to keep up with what is current.
The red dot sights are the new ones from flashlight maker Olight. They call them "O-

sights". The O-sight S model is for small frame models, in this case the Glock 43X.
The O-sight X model is for full size pistols like the Glock 17.
The G43X ran like a top. I ran 100 rounds through it. That aftermarket slide was made by a company called Kineti-Tech. No feeding problems and worked as well as the Glock OEM slide.
The O-Sight S mounted easily on the 43X and worked well.
The Glock 17 gen4 model lower was mated with an aftermarket slide made by Delta Team Tactical. The O-Sight X mounted but Im not sure about the mounting being secure. It looks like there are spacer screws down in the mounting holes but I couldnt figure out if they were supposed to be there or not. Each mounting hole did have about 4 threads showing before hitting the spacer screws, so I loctited the mounting screws and hoped for the best.
The 1st mag had 3 failures to feed (all mags are glock oem). But the tolerances opened up after that first mag and I didnt have any more feed failures after that. What I did have was several light primer strikes throughout the 100 round run. I've run into that before with aftermarket uppers that dont have glock oem parts in them. Usually the firing pin spring isnt as strong as the glock oem spring, or crud is built up in the firing pin channel...resulting in light primer strikes.
Ive got glock oem parts ordered and will post again when I get them installed and can try them out.
