We are on the way home from 3 good days of hunting in Texas and Oklahoma. 3 of us killed 16 birds in 3 days and filled all but 2 of our tags. It's been a great trip. We arrived Friday to scout and roost birds for the Texas opener and then killed 11 birds in 2 days on our places there. We hunted the opener in Oklahoma yesterday and ended up filling 5 of our 6 tags there yesterday. We killed some studs this year and got some good footage too that I'll try to post up. It's time to start my tn season and finish out alabama now.

First morning in Texas

First morning in tx

#3 in tx

That's me and a cottonwood. :)

First morning in Oklahoma

Hooks

Not sure what these darts were for but we found a bunch of them in Oklahoma

Oklahoma is infested with yotes. Click to play video but turn up the volume and just listen.

Congrats on a successful hunt!

I'm heading to OK (between Eldorado and Red River) on Monday for a 3
Day hunt

Congrats man you always wear em out. Please don't hunt any middle Tennessee WMAs :D

Rios and Merriams too for that matter really don't stand much chance against hunters who were raised on easterns. :)

Congrats Brandon, y'all burned them down like I expected. The words below are as true as most any you'll hear.

Is say those darts are to put medicine in cows that are sick. One of the farmers I hunt on uses them. Congrats on a great trip!

what a trip! congrats! one of these days I want to work some Rios, but too cheap to pay for the hunt. I've hunted Merriams and found them to be schizophrenic... at times coming from over 1000 yards away in 10 minutes to a call, and other times just gobbling like crazy but they seem too stupid to figure out where to head. Pretty birds, though!

Sweet, yall wore them out!

Did you hunt on public or private? Friends of mine just got back from OK and didnt have any luck on public. I would like to take my father in law on a private TX ranch when we head to West TX for our annual camping trip.

Both states were all private hunting. Not much public in Texas and the Oklahoma places I know of are run over with folks. For a couple hundred a day you can have some fine hunting.

Thanks! My buddies that just got back from OK agree with you about the pressure on its public land.
