IMO he didn't have a chance to be successful from the get go. Have always heard the majority of boosters are still racists. I don't use that a lot but I can see it. I know his record is bad but he was a dead man walking when hired. He is really filthy rich now though. Wonder who's the next coach there?

I'd be really surprised if he's replaced with anyone other than Tom Herman.

I'm really surprised Strong wasn't more successful there than he was. Dude went 37-15 at Louisville and won a BCS bowl.

Hold on a second. If racism is the reason he is getting fired, why did they hire him in the first place? Did the boosters all become racists after they agreed to hire him on Jan 5, 2014? I think the more logical explanation is that he just didn't live up to their expectations.

I'm not thrilled with Sgt. Carter, but I wouldn't trade him for Charlie.

Texas is not delusional. They have everything they need to be a national title contender in any given year. Everything except a good coach.

It takes a few years to get a program up and running. Results are not instant. Investing in a coach should be a 5 year commitment. You don't pull the plug after two season.

No academic, recruiting, criminal/sexual assault issues. He's a good coach. Won at L'ville. Just think he should finish w his 1st class. Had a top 10 freshman class. Might have his qb.

texas is like florida if you don't have double digit wins and playing for ships after 1 or 2 years you need to be gone considering the recruiting base

Bottom line is Charlie is taking Texas in the wrong direction. This season should have been much better. There is clearly too much risk in allowing him to stay for another.
