Last week I posted a need for a bow from anyone that had one laying around that was gathering dust for a young man, my next door neighbor, that I've taken under my wing after losing his Dad. Within hours, minutes actually, I had so many offers to help that I could have outfitted multiple kids with archery equipment. This site is so chocked full of great people and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the many offers to help, and especially Eric(eweisner) for the bow and Matt at EnergyWave Bowstrings and Archery(fasteddie) for the sight and getting the string done so quick. I've said it before....this is more than just another siteit is an extended family!

I think the pic taken just after getting the gift says it allit takes a lot to get this young man to smile! [color:#FF0000]<Click on the bottom pic for a brief video>[/color] Turns out the kid ain't half bad with bow, especially for someone that has never shot one before....after some brief instruction, and a dozen "practice" shots, I told him to see what he could do at 15 yards.

That's awesome TNDeer Guy. The Lord will bless you for helping this young man and I can't help but think his father was watching over you guys. I hope someone were to help my boys if anything happened to me. Awesome man.

FoxFire, thanks for the offer. He doesn't have one and right now does need onehis Mom isn't ready for him to go hunting....yet! :) I'm just doing this to get him away from all those girls in his household and spend time with the men.

Gotcha, think'n I mite can find one, even if mama dont want him to hunt he mite like some 3d shoots or indoor tournaments, fun stuff.

Just curious...what kind fo bow did he get ?? the draw weight/length fit him good ??

Gotcha....he would be appreciative of it. It is a early 2000's PSE Nova model that eweisner donated, 70lbs. limbs/29" draw and it fits him perfect but we have it adjusted to 55lbs right now, so he can learn with good form and build up his archery muscles and muscle memory.
