The Derek Dooley Era....SMH

Very interesting story,i'm sure glad we once again have a great coach and recruiter!Dooley just killed us!

I made it through about half of it before getting nauseous.

I'm just glad the team tanked when it did, or he might still be here. Just imagine if had beaten #1 LSU and NC in the bowl game. Whew!

I'm thinking all gators will miss dooley from this season on!

We also miss Fulmer and Kiffin... :) So far we love CBJ... :tu:

Better get your smack talking in now gator,it is gonna be a long season for the Gator fans,in three years you more than likely will be searching for a new coach but we shall see.

CBJ might be the one on the hot seat after this season. His squeaked into a bowl game last season. If TN doesn't improve this season or takes a step back. It could get very hot for CBJ. CBJ will be walking a fine line with UTs QB situation. If Dobbs goes down then it could be a long season. Considering that UT has its QB run the ball off the option. It could get hairy and go bad in a hurry. I don't care how good a true fr. Might of been in H.S. The SEC is a different story.

When UT knocked out FLs QB in 2013. FL ended up 4-8.... :)

I remember you once had a quarterback than ran nearly ever play, so?
You talking about the one who won a couple championships lol? Don't A lot of good teams have a QB who can take off and make plays with his feet now days? It seems that ways anyways watching Tebow, cam Newton, Johnny football, Dak prescott, let's see how about Marcus mariotta, Winston, Nick marshell. Over the last few years they did alright running the ball:)

Even if you have a JR back up QB he could still suck!! Lol in most cases if your starting QB goes down your season is gonna take a hit No matter what, freshman back up or not.

We can worry about Dobbs getting hurt "IF" it happens!

Just pointing out there's a fine line between having a good season and a season falling apart. Not a lot of those qbs/teams you mentioned had all true fr. As backups. Heck, at one point Cam Newton was Tebow's backup. Fans aren't going to cut CBJ any slack if the wheels come off.

There's a good chance that Dobbs might not get hurt but UTs not the kind of team that can survive if he does.

Yeah but that Fine line you pointed out Applies to MOST college teams lol if any teams star starting QB goes down in mid season, JR back up or true freshman back up its still gonna hurt that team at the end of the season when it comes to wins and losses In most cases.

I think everyone knows if Dobbs goes down Tennessee is not gonna have much a chance to win many games

they are teams like Ohio st. Who can still be a very good team after a QB or two goes down, but 9 times outta 10 if your starting QB goes down that team is gonna struggle.

But your right about CBJ if he don't win 8+ games with a healthy Dobbs or unhealthy Dobbs his gonna be setting in the hot seat

The only way Jones will be on the hot seat would be IF the team falters WITHOUT any injuries. Knowledgeable fans understand how injuries work, I mean even Muschamp got another year ;) !

I've said it before, Fulmer wasn't a Hall of Fame coach when he was fired ;) :D ! He coasted the last few years, and once the talent gap narrowed, he was at a disadvantage, especially once Cutcliffe moved on.

I said at the time that Kippy Brown was the best option for a one year trial period. He was done dirty!

I still can't believe how close we were to Dooley getting another couple of years. Whew, we dodge one.

This year is going to be so sweet, and next year will be even better!

I agree With G&B about CBJ being on the hot seat if his team does not improve! You can still be on the hot seat and get one more final please show me something year.

You can't have back to back top 5 recruiting classes and finish 6-6 again :? And not be on the hot seat IMO

I think CBJ will be fine. He was a Georgia fumble and a Florida interception away from an 8-4 season. Take away the injuries to a few WR and suspension of AJ & I believe the Mizzou game has another outcome. 2 key plays in the Oklahoma game and it could have been really interesting during the last of the 4th quarter.
Many things like that don't fall squarely on the Coach.
The pieces are coming together to be able to compete at a higher level in the SEC again.
I am anxious to watch this season unfold.
It's very possible to go 9-3 10-2 this year. Maybe some of those bad breaks fall our way and could pave the way to a possible SECCG or a better Bowl Game than last years. Who knows that's why we love to watch the game.
My tv has stayed on the SECNETWORK for 2 months. I'm ready to watch some college football!!!

Muschamp was given another year because he took the team 12-1 and was one game from a N/C the year before the 4-8 and 18 injured starters including losing the starting QB for the season. CBJ has been nowhere near 12-1... :tu:

We agree on Kippy Brown totally.... :D

Not sure your last statement being correct and time will tell.

Or we can say he got lucky against a SC team that folded or barely beat a bad Vandy team. Could of almost ended up 5-7.... :tu: Funny how the ole football can bounce

Most vol fans will say vandy plays their best game of the year against the vols and I sorta have to agree with them. Vandy normally plays ut close. But no one can argue they were a couple plays away from 8-4 or a couple plays away from 4-8.
Quite funny how the football can bounce.
