... sure is easy to carry through the woods but it ain't no fun to pattern. Geez, my shoulder will be hurting til the season opens.

I think it's the short one, chrmayo.

It's a beast is an understatement. It feels like it knocks a filling out every time you shoot it. By the 4th shot, I'm flinching like a girl.

Yeah those light single shots will kick. I use a NEF single shot that's chambered for 3.5 (which should be against the law) but I shoot 2 3/4 shells. My nephew shot a 3.5 with it and it knocked his sunglasses off his head.

How ya liking the SX3?

If they made the encore in 3 1/2 thats what id be toting. I showed this too my wife and she was laughing at yawl. Just having a little fun. Those new stocks with the recoil reducers in them really help.

It is a nice one. Shooting 2-3/4 out of that is way more fun.
I gave tndeer a $5 donation at the Vous fo the sale.

If I had to shoot 3-1/2 shells out of this thing it would be on the classifieds. I've had to pattern this thing three seasons in a row. I went from open sights in 2010, to a scope last year, and I decided to try the Nikon turkey scope this year. I won't be changing ever again. I will be getting the Lead Sled and some weights when I go back.

I have the Pro Hunter stock with Limbsaver built in and it doesn't help. You must be married to one tough lady. :)

Shes kinda tough but i never have let her shoot it at anything but a turkey. Im just messing with yawl. Seriously though if it was a 3 1/2 i would have one. I called the tc factory and asked if theyd make me one. LOL I told the factory rep that i could get a 3 1/2 inch shell in the 3 inch gun and if i could shoot it. She said she wouldnt advise it. LOL They are great for carrying around and easy maneuvering.

One piece of advice I may offer is to be very careful of using a lead sled when excessive recoil is involved and you are checking/confirming POA/POI. I had a good friend that learned this lesson the hard way a few years back. He made the switch from Win Ext Range to Nitros (from a lot of recoil to A LOT OF RECOIL). He did not want to shoot the Nitros at paper in his normal hunting position (sitting down shooting off knee as we do in the woods) because of the recoil issue. He proceeded to pattern the Nitros with his lead sled to avoid the recoil while also seeing how they pattern and confirm POA=POI. Everything looked great on paper, great pattern and POA=POI, so he went hunting. After missing SIX long beards, all gimme shots less than 35 yards, in 2-3 weeks, he called me, venting like he!! and explained his case. I suggested he check his POA/POI without the lead sled as I believed it would be different. Sure enough, his POI without the lead sled was 8" higher than with the lead sled. Couple this with the fact that most all shells shoot somewhat different than other shells through exact same setups and it is not hard to see why each of us should practice exactly as we plan to hunt, or as close as feasibly possible. It was a tough lesson for him, but something he and I both learned from. Just passing this along in hopes no one else has to learn this lesson the way he did.

i do ALL my pattern testing from a sled when determining what ammo to use. Once i am done with the patterning i shoot 1 from the sitting position to make sure the POI is on.
