The end of my turkey season

That sucks. Might help if you post the general area you're interested in. I lost a small place this year that's a mile and a half down the road but always had birds. Fortunately I was able to get on a place 20 minutes away with a member here for turkeys only. My deer lease is an hour and a half away and although there are turkeys on it I don't have time in the spring to do that much driving. Good luck!

Just lost the best, and my only turkey hunting spot. Anyone willing to help out a fellow hunter?
There's hundreds of thousands of acres of public land here in east tn where it says you live. Get out there and scout, plenty of time

This property was 1/4 mile from the house

Too much public land in this state for my turkey season to be over just because I lost a private spot. Might mean a little longer drive but it beats sitting at home.

I'm rolling mainly public this year. Have some buddies that may let me sneak in their private lands some.

Use the TN Data Property viewer and check with all property owners that surround the place you lost. All they can say is No!

That is true! I will do that. May have to call the whole county

Sorry you lost your place, that got to hurt.

However I have hunted public land since I first started and would highly recommend putting in some effort to scout not one, but several places so you can move around when other hunters come and go.

If I had to hunt public ground it would be the end of my season. Hunting public ground is just not enjoyable to me and I love spring fishing. I want to battle the turkeys. Not battle googans. I have to put in for LBL every few years to remind me that I hate public land hunting.

heh you aint got the feel for it, it's not about battling the googans but rather working around them and knowing the land... something keeps me going back to my stomping grounds every year. Bumped a fat beard last week while checking out a ridge I've never hunted on a WMA that gets hunted hard but is one of my favorite spots to go in the spring. Cant wait

I think I attract Googans. My favorite spot at LBL is a mile off the road up what us West TN boys call a mountain. Last time I was there I get all the way up to my spot, sit down well before daylight, and before it was even gobble time some clown walks up 30 yards from me and starts hooting like an owl on steroids with rabies. It happens every time. And God forbid I get on a gobbling bird. They will come running like Usain Bolt from every direction. Pretty soon it sounds like the turkey call aisle at Bass Pro with surround sound! :bash:
