The goto powder?

Another vote for Varget. I think I could get most of my rifles..if not all them to shoot Varget, some would be ideal for it, some not so much, but they would still go bang.

My only experience is with IMR4350 (270 WIN and 260 REM with 140 gr) Accurate XMR4064 (260 REM with 120 or 85 gr bullets) and H335 (308 WIN and 30/30).

I guess I always start with IMR 4350 if it's listed in the caliber I shoot. Very acceptible accuracy and velocity in the rounds I use.

H4895 is mine. I use it in several different loads and get good results. Varget is better as far as temperature sensitivity but I've got a better handle on the H4895 after using it in a lot of loads over the years amd you said I could only pick one. Close seconds would be the Varget, W748, RL15, RL22, IMR 4350, and IMR4831.

I am glad we have these many powders to use . Just remember our past founding fathers struggled for many years to get our powder productions where they are today at one time the only good gun-powder came from Europe. Some in congress would like to take all these gun-powders away from us then we would have to buy what they wanted us to buy , along with tracking devices and other crazy ideas to take the honest mans guns away.
