yes, grandma called it green tomato pickles but reading recipes while trying to recreate hers I learned there is a wide range of names and regional differences including, pickles, relish, chow chow, chutney and preserves were all similar and overlapping. I grew up eating this with beans and have spent years trying to recreate hers. This year I am so close the only difference may be her personal touch.
