I have seen this buck off and on since he was a 2.5 yr old. At that age he was a typical 8 with big forks on each G2. I told everyone if he made it he would be special. He has shown up each year at some point at a food plot I plant each year. I had decide he was the deer I wanted to hunt last year as he would have been 5.5 yrs old which is the minimum I have set for trophies on my place. I was worried last year he didnt make it because I had not seen him. I got pics of him around Jan 1st last year for the first time. He was all broken up at that time so I passed on him hoping he would make it another year. I have posted a pic for reference from last year. I decided to put a corn feeder over there this year early to see if I could at least see if he was still around, well low and behold he is. The earliest I had seen him any year was about the middle of Dec. Im am pumped and hope I can get him with my bow before he decides to bust up any of his rack. This is all low fence and I know some of you think it is deer farming but I just like to let them grow up a little. I have let many big deer walk to never see them again. Sometimes I get lucky and they stick around.

In Texas, low fence refers to typical 5 strands of barbwire about 42" high. This is a working cattle ranch with about 20% of the acreage in crops.

He is one of a kind no doubt, love them brows and everything else about him. I am amazed at the amount of horn he put on from last year to this year with the drought yall have had this year, simply amazing. Best of luck with him and as Mega stated, post up some kill pics if anyone gets him, hopefully it will be you.

He had a lot of that junk last year. A lot it was just broken off. I figured he would have been in the high 150s last year just guessing from what I had seen the year before and what I could tell was broken off. I also think he was a heavy breeder the prior year so he was "off" as a 5.5 yr old. Sometimes that will take its toll and they bounce back good the next year. We have plenty of crops for these deer to eat most years even in a drought. The mature bucks look to be in good shape overall.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, as far as what he might score, I have no idea. Only way to find out is to put him on the ground.
