Been trying to fine tune my 870 for the past couple of months to make it shorter so I can move the muzzle around easier in my pop-ups. First thing was to replace my extended choke with one that is flush. Next, restocked it with a 12" buttstock, replacing the factory 14". Next, replaced the 26" factory barrel with a 21" factory barrel. Now it looks like a turkey gun. Shot it this morning with many shot in the kill zone. Unfortunately, I didn't reason that your thumb is 2" closer to your nose. Never been hit so hard in the nose. After I stopped the bleeding, and went home I immediately put the 14" buttstock back on. NOW, I have the perfect turkey gun which hopefully will not kill me as well as a turkey, every time that I shoot it. lol

Been even worse if you'd had a scope! :)
Maybe you should just consider a little larger pop-up?
Yeah, Wes I got one of those too during the offseason, lol
We also have several "outhouse blinds" which are great, but a tad small for a 26" barrel. However, I've killed a bunch of birds out of them. You know how it is, always experimenting. But, I don't believe I can stand many more experiments like I had yesterday! lol
