The "Rock" is a Tennessee Campus Legend. The "Rock" will not decide if CBJ Will be fired. The biggest factor that will decide it will be fans attendance at the games.

That will get painted over. But, it seems the writing is on the "rock" as they say. I don't see butch surviving after this year. I think the years of incompetence is catching up and majority of folks are tired of it and voicing their opinions pretty heavily. I bet AD email has been overloaded.

Kinda crazy to me that 8-4 seasons get a coach fired at the historically top tier football programs.
You go 8-4 @ vandy and your a god and can pretty much write your own checks.
That is if another school doesn't notice what you've done at a university so hard to recruit to, with such high admission standards and come and offer you a much better, more lucrative job.
Everyone thought franklin was just a snake oil salesman and was lucky but he is building something pretty strong at penn st.
Can't help but wonder what would have happened at vandy if they were able to hold onto him. He's the only coach I've ever seen that actually had the fan base excited for Vanderbilt football. I'm pretty pleased with what mason has done so far though. It's taken him some time, but his teams have gotten better every season. Something cbj's teams haven't really done.
We may have seen all cbj has to offer.

Franklin is a good coach and recruiter.

Classless move and won't do anything except make the situation seem worse than it actually is.

He is an UNBELIEVABLE motivator. I still go back and watch some of the old vandy revealed vids on you tube.
Franklin had those two and three star recruits believing they were the best football players in the world. Lol

Heard rumblings that UT might go after Franklin. I doubt they could get him though. I'm not a fan, but hey, if he took us to the playoffs then I could probably come around :D !

Why would he leave his home state and he's already at a top 10 university? I'm not sure UT could pay him to leave Penn St. I would Mark that one off the Christmas list.

Agree.... Would have to compete with Bama each year. Easier road to the playoffs where he is now.

Ut went after franklin when he was still at Vanderbilt.
He had said the only place he would leave for was penn st. It was always his dream job. I expect him there for the long haul.

Surely there is someone out there better than Butch Jones. I know it might not be the caliber of Saban or Myers, but they're special coaches and that's like hitting the lottery.
