And I really like it.
Went back I to the same general area where I killed the bird yesterday afternoon hoping to attest hear a bird on the limb today. I got to where I could hear well and at gobble-30 one bird starts gobbling off and on. He hits the ground and goes the other way and I give chase. I figured it was going to be best to flank him since I thought I knew where he was going. Of course he got there first and I could hear a hen or 2 every now and then talking but I couldn't get any closer than about 200 yards so I waited......and waited, called sparingly and every now and then he would gobble at me or at a crow. I got up at one point and had decided I needed to back away and circle to the other side and see if I could get closer. I don't know if he heard me walking or if he was already coming my way, but I had to make a mad dash back to my tree and sit back down. He came to what sounded like 100 yards and gobbled several times and I wouldn't answer him. 20 minutes go by and I see him slipping to my left at about 60 yards. I let him get behind some brush where he we couldn't see me and yelp at him. I hear him blow up and start drumming. 10 minutes or so go by and he finally eases left about 20 yards and into an opening. I stop him with a soft yelp and he cranes his head to meet his maker.
