When my bow was stolen in 2010 I bought the PSE Stinger RTH and upgraded the sight to a TR Hitman 5 pin. I mostly hunt public land, and typically move to the very back (thats another story). The Stinger is ~4.5 lbs bare, and then all the accessories, plus stand, etc, my equipment gets up there.

I'm looking to upgrade by selling the Stinger, but not sure which bow to go with after. I've looked at Mathews, and as much as I WANT one, starting at $999 is not in my price range. Thusly, I'm looking at the Mission line of bows (Mathews' "Low End" set of bows), primarily the Venture. Good adjustability, and decent price range.

What's everyones opinions on these vs those I could get at BPS or Cabelas?

the mission looks nice. Id actually like to check one of those out. I got a 2nd hand PSE scorpion from 04 that does good...i freshened it up with a few things, but im starting to wonder if there is something else I would maybe like better???

$999 is MSRP on a Mathews but they are not that much. Go to the Archery Den in Franklin. He has Mission, Mathews, Hoyt and Bowtech. He has all the gear you will need and can get you set up properly. I would recommend working with a shop. I did the box store when I first started but deal almost exclusively with Archery Den.

As do I. I've already talked to Jeremy and will be going down there sometime soon.
