This time with my dad.

But he got his, which is the main thing. Two came in together right off of the roost. I had laid back to do the calling, just in case he/they hung up. Had we been together, it would have been a real possibility there.

I went after another close bird later, and had him within 100 yards, but the hen he was following went back the way she came when she couldn't find me, and he drifted off with her.

Lots of gobbling early and probably an hour and a half after flydown, then someone flipped the switch off.

Thanks guys. He got #2 Friday on his own.

Going strong for turning 76 this November.

I'm just praying I will reach 76 years old and still turkey hunting!

gz to dad!

I took my dad once... we set up 100 yds away from 4 gobbling on the roost. After 15 minutes he was snoring, sound asleep. Glad you can enjoy hunting with him!

:rotf:

Did you wake him up with a gun shot?

My dad gets around great. He has to be close to hear them gobbling though, so he misses out on a lot of the hunt.

One of my goals every year is to put a bird in front of his gun barrel. The pressure was on last year when we came down to the last two hours that he could hunt. It didn't help when he mentioned earlier that week that he couldn't remember how many years it had been since he hadn't killed at least one
:( .

Thankfully that bird finally came in  !
