While I agree that buck is going to be a great buck next year, I might add "if he survives to be seen again." I wish I had a dollar for every TN buck (115-130") my friends and I have gotten on trail camera mid December to mid January ONLY to never be seen again. No sightings, no trail cam pics, no nothing. I am starting to believe more mature bucks perish after deer season (Jan-Apr) than we hunters will ever believe.

I do believe you are correct. I have found a couple over the years dead late winter from what appeared to be natural causes, one was a 164 inch deer, but not that many. I believe they die and get consumed so quickly (antlers and all). That we just dont realize it.
