Which deer is bigger. Also, post what you think age and score is. Three pics of each buck.
No sir, just 2. The 1 buck in the first 3 pics is one I killed last year but the 2nd in the last 3 pics is the one I'm trying to catch up with this year, fingers crossed he's still alive.I may be getting old but I see three different bucks . #1. 4.5 120' s #2.4.5 pushing 130 .#3. 3.5 125 all a guess from me .
You're right on the 1st. I'm surprised you think the second scores less. I personally thought he looked to score a little more. I can tell you the g2s on the first deer was 12 inches. But the mass on the second seems larger and also seems to have same tine length. Both 4.5+. I actually think first one is bigger. I think it'll reach 130 or real close, and the second one is a few inches behind it.
I believe you're dead on with this opinion. Both appear from those pics to be mature. Both have good tine length. Second one has better mass, will score better.
Just one low 130's, second one upper 130's.

Appreciate that bud. I've killed some nice deer but a 130 8 is something special around here for sure( I hunt one of the worst deer counties in the state) and I've never came close to till last year. When I say he's a 130 that's what he gross scores. I've got another 8 at the taxidermist right now and I think he'll come close but I'm not sure how to score a deer with velvet ( mass measurements). For example in hard bone he may have 5 inch bases but with velvet he's probably 6.5 inch bases. Going by that logic he'll possibly have 8 more inches because of 8 mass measurements. I know that isn't how they score them but I'd like to figure it out. They're similar for sure. The camera angles, distance, and being daytime maybe make second buck's bases look heavier but I'm not sure they are. Beyond that they look similar mass. The first buck also looks to me to have longer brows and G3s. None of the differences are huge, and no way to know until you tape them both, but just from pics I'm guessing a few more inches on first buck.
Congrats on killing him. Superb 8pt! Lots of folks throw around "130" 8s" like they're mediocre or common. They're not. A true 130" 8pt is a giant frame that looks at home on a wall of world class deer. I'm rooting for you to get the other one!
