All of you types who like to hear them gobble at thunder have a 60% chance of that happening opening day, at least that's the forecast in West Tennessee. Obviously, I'm going, being its opening day, but at the first rumble, should it occur, I will make a beeline for the car.

I'd rather turkey hunt than eat, but I ain't gonna sit out there and hold a lightening rod while its storming!! :(
You and me! I don't mind the rain as such, as I hunt mostly from pop-ups anyway(which I have further waterproofed), but not out there tempting fate in a storm.

I have hunted turkeys in a tornado warning. They gobble great as the lightning pops and thunder rolls, then when the trees start falling down around you they seem to get very tight lipped. Or it could have been the fact that god was telling me not to be hunting on easter morning...lol

i figure i have a better chance of falling down the steps and breaking my neck then being struck by lightning.if god wants me to come home it doesnt matter what im doing so i may as well be turkey hunting!
Do you play russian roulette with the same attitude? "If God wants you to come home", he'll line up the one bullet with the chamber. If he doesn't, he'll always make sure that an empty chamber comes up. LOL I'd sooner do my share to keep the risk down as low as possible. Like sitting in the car and waiting out the storm. LOL
