I suck at turkey hunting. It's one of those things I would like to be good at but I am not. I've tried everything over the years . I believe I could sit in a blind next to a pile of corn and decoys and still not kill one.😂 Yes, I know corn is illegal and do not use it.

They have to be where you hunt. They are not regular on our property in the spring. They roost near our lines and flydown into the bottoms behind us. I tried for years and had several opportunities just the other side where they would strut and gobble the other side of the channel, but never could get them to come across the channel back onto our property. Boy that has the property behind us kills birds every year, pretty sure he shot early this morning.

Don't give up,if they are property near you it's hard to call the long distances, the best thing to do is hunt after noon after the hens go on the nest ,don't over call and be Ready

If you have birds around, I'd advise getting an experienced hunter to go with you.

You don't have to be able to call like you see on the videos.

Also keep in mind that later in the season and later in the morning, the percentages go up as far as calling in a gobbler.
