I fished it Sunday and was surprised to see what I thought was a reddish algae bloom covering the lake around Turkey Creek. It made for very poor visibility in what is usually a very clear lake. It also made fishing very tough. After some research, I'm positive it was turnover. It's a little early but with Winter the way it was and it warming up like it is now, it makes sense.
Just a heads up to anyone wanting to fish it, leave it alone for a week or so until it gets back to normal. I did manage a few Smallies but no size to speak of. They hit swimbaits in 5-8 feet of water along isolated rocky patches of bank among all the gravel and clay.
