I caught the end of the game. Glad that's all I saw.

I still can't comprehend how Vescovi can be so streaky, especially on wide open shots.

I guess we were fortunate to even have a chance at winning, but when he missed at the buzzer in regulation, I knew it was over. This loss will keep Barnes up at night.

3-pt shooting was terrible. At one point they were 3 for 30. But I'm not going to worry too much about a loss in the first week of December.

They looked bad.

They have played 3 decent teams this year and are 1-2 in those games.

I like coach Barnes his a class act I hope he stays in Tennessee until he hangs them up, but his got yet another team that's gonna fall short in the SEC tournament and probably not make it out of the round of 32 of the big dance.

They got Memphis coming up in 10 days. Memphis has already lost to two SEC teams Tennessee better take care of business get this season back on track

Too early to make that prediction. KY is notorious for looking sloppy early in the season, but then conference play comes along, and then March and they are a much different team.

Inside play is critical. Fulkerson was automatic when he was at the top of his game, but Covid greatly affected him, and he hasn't fully recovered.

Add to that, we have to figure out who our "go-to" guy is. We have the scorers, but we need the guy who wants the ball in crunch time.

I figured we were toast when James ankle looked like it just melted as he was attempting the dunk on the breakaway. I have never seen that before, especially when it didn't appear that he had turned it. Did he hit a slick spot?

But, we still had a chance, and I still can't fathom Vescovi not hitting that shot.

True it's to early to make that prediction, but when you look at the way they played this year so far its not looking good.

Loyola Chicago & Oregon state have left a bad taste in my mouth the last few Ncaa tournament teams Barnes has thrown out there.

Oh, I agree.

I guess I am content just having a team in the hunt every year (and holding our own with KY), but it did leave a bad taste seeing Pearl get to the FF and have a shot.

I do know one thing, he has to recruit more inside muscle. Other than the teams with Williams and Schofield, we are always out-manned physically, and physical toughness is needed in the tourney.

Outside shooting was terrible. 3 point shooting was horrendous. You're going to have those days. But what I don't get is how they were manhandled on the glass. TT seemed to have perfect position for every rebound. And TT's defense was stellar. I have no idea how Tennessee kept the game close. I would say they were "skulldrug" up and down the court, but my IQ is way above 50 so I won't.

Next 2 games should be easy wins. Then Memphis, which hasn't looked good, but very talented. Then 7 of the next 11 games are against ranked teams.

I saw most of CO game but missed last night. They didn't light it up at CO but Chandler got to the rim anytime he wanted. Live & die by the 3 but you'd hope KC could still find points. Like I said I didn't see it so I can't comment on the specifics.
Huntley Hatfield needs to come along & develop to play significant minutes if we want to advance in any tournament IMO.

I wouldn't worry too much about Memphis… they are the equivalent of a 16 year old with a jacked up F250 diesel and no idea how to drive it IMO.

And I am/was a Memphis fan. I am a respectful TN basketball watcher on occassion.

I haven't seen Memphis so I don't know but I love the analogy regardless

When Penny was hired Memphis fans were ecstatic. I heard friends say, "We'll get any recruit we want. National Championship in the first few years. Etc." I cautioned them that just because you can play doesn't mean you can coach. Now I'm hearing pleas to let Larry Brown coach the team.

The Texas Tech game was as bad of an offensive performance as I have seen in a long time. At one point at the end of the game, Josiah gets a break away steal and FALLS DOWN missing a layup. Couldn't hit free throws. This team can be as hot or as cold as anyone. I wouldn't put a penny on them in March, but at the same time, I know they could make a deep run.

I would have definitely been hobbling when I got up to at least make it appear that I was hurt.

6 for 40! On the 3 ball that game. At what point does the coach say we can't hit from deep tonight let's get something going down low.

They shot 50% from the Foul line that is horrible.

And they was out rebounded

Your not gonna beat many teams getting out played in those 3 categories.

I mentioned that above.

Here it is again. His teammates will NEVER let him live this down :D !

I saw that on barstool (I think) a day after the game. That's probably the worst miss I've ever seen. It looked like he had a fit of some kind as soon as he took off. That's all time bad.
