Me and buddy hit the woods early and wind was not making our Sunday hunt any easier. Couldn't get a bird to talk back to us at all. At 8:40 I catch sight of big boy and he is puttin on a show in the intersection of 2 logging roads, so we set in on the stalk. We get to about 60 yards of him and got to much undergrowth for the shot. So I start calling to him ansI called in a 4x4 chevy apparently cause thats what came down the log road and old tom went running down the road. My luck, so I waved and went on my way to another spot. Guy is also a lease member so thats way it goes sometimes. Get to last spot at 9:15 and hit the box call and finally a gobble, We get in and sit down, no decoys just us and the 870. Then thats when I see Tommy 2 Toes, and he is coming hard to a soft yelp. He comes busting through the brush and meets a loud BANG! 37 yards and its lights out. 23 lbs 1 1/8" spurs 10" beard and 2 toes. Big thanks to my buddy Mark on an awesome hunt and some fine callin.
