Food Plots Too late to plant?

I was thinking of just throwing some rye in the grass to see if anything would come up this season..... thoughts?

I've had luck in the past broadcasting cereal grains right into the grass as it is going dormant. Have actually broadcasted in the timber as well after the leaves thinned with decent results. If we ever get some rain in the forecast I would give it a try.

If it gets moisture it will grow, doesnt even have to rain, heavy dews are enough to germinate wheat and rye
