I'm listening carefully to you Spring Chickens! I'm 81 and want to hunt as much as ever. But reality has set in when I had a stroke 29 December, 2019. I still easily remember laying there and NOT being able to move anything on my right side. Fingers, arm, leg or toes. But I remember telling myself that I'll just have to make the best of it. I still can't drive or walk without my brace and a walker but I am so blessed and thankful to GOD that I'm able to use a walker instead of a wheelchair! Maybe I'll make it to TN for turkey and will try my best to make it for deer season. Have made it for last two years for deer. Have a dream of making it for crappie spawning season and then during same trip doing turkey. Maybe? There is a thin line between being determined and being stubborn and I lean to the stubborn side but my therapist says that's what has got me this far.
The Grace of GOD is the major factor but three years of exercising didn't hurt. And I give GOD the credit for supplying my motivation and desire to exercise (still close to one hour a day, except Sunday). It's not easy. So far at least, I just refuse to give up! See, the stubborn side is making itself known. I'm going to continue hunting as long as I can! GOD Bless All of You!! Ray
