Top performer for the Vols is Alvin Kamara!
Alvin Kamara, So., RB
There isn't a position battle going on for Tennessee's starting running back job; that still belongs to Jalen Hurd despite him being limited by injuries this spring. But if Hurd were unable to go this fall, the Volunteers have a good idea of who will replace him.
Kamara, a junior college transfer who spent the 2013 season at Alabama, wowed coaches and teammates this spring with his speed, power and explosiveness. At 5'11" and 210 pounds, he's actually the smaller of the two Tennessee runners compared to the 6'3", 230-pound Hurd, but he's no less imposing with the ball in his hands.
"Kamara can get the tough yards as well as run away from defenders," Bleacher Report's Brad Shepard wrote. "Though the Vols don't have a lot of depth at running back, Hurd and Kamara should be one of the top one-two punches in the nation :super: :super: :super:
