I'm no historian, but I believe Indians used the "fanning" technique well before calls and other types of "traditional" hunting was invented. Maybe this "new" style of hunting isn't so new after all... :poke:

Now if I could only find a loincloth in bottomland camo....

Same people lost all they had to beads and whiskey. Hard to revere a culture that was so easily duped, not to mention they were light years behind the white man with regards to technology to help make life easier. :super:

That tactic is used often out West, still.

I think Steve Rinella has a episod where he tries this on bison, if not him it was someone.

Huge difference. They had to kill to live. We hunt for sport. I eat everything I shoot, and like it, but none of us must kill to thrive.

If you do, I suggest you get off the internet, and go look for a job.

[emoji38]that is a perfect quote

If you compare cost of wild game to sustainably harvested and organic meats the price gap is not to far apart. At least that is what I tell my wife.

I think Remmy Warren did this also with the buffalo hide.

I think maybe it was the Remmy episod . Steve killed one in AK.

Yep
and if the bag limits are not lowered or fanning made illegal
we wont have enough adult birds to breed the hens
Fanning is deadly

I don't pay for wild game, I pay for gas and minimal gear so I can enjoy hunting. The meat is the free bonus :D

Setterman the birds really like the sound of my wingbone call which is light years behind the white mans snakewood crystal acrylic walnut cherry anodized aluminum triple reed diaphragm wet box turkey calling gadget. Am I using an inferior method of calling them in? ;)

If you were actually using the wingbone rather then a fan you'd be utilizing the superior method :D
