they are making them cheaper every year.......cotton cordell, smithwick, bomber, rebel....etc
few casts ...the paint scrapes off.....paints are real thin compaired to my older lures of the same model, thinking about spraying some automotive grade clear coats on em
anyone put extra clear coat on em when new?.......does paint last longer?

They don't swim worth a dang either. Bombers used to come out of the package ready to fish. Now you have to tune every one to get the action right... Sometimes I can't get them do right no matter how much I mess with them. I don't know if they are warped or what, but I have seen some brand new with crooked or deformed bills.

Any bait i paint i cover with epoxy. It seems to hold up well for me. I know silverfox paints a few good looking baits. Maybe he has a trick or two? The paint seems to be getting thin or less durable than those from the past. Bandits and kvd square bills seem to hold up well still. As i bang them on rocks regularly.
