I am looking to purchase a new trail camera but not sure what to get. To purchase another one like I have now is $550. I am not really wanting to spend that much but still want a quality camera. Does anybody have any suggestions for a good camera in the $200-300 range.
 
I got a ScoutGuard off ebay last summer and ran it last year and through season. It has unbelievable battery life, good trigger time, IR and video and is priced right. It runs on AA batteries and can run for a year off one set. I keep the Mega Pixels turned down on mine, but it makes good photos.

Agree with Scoutguard. It's been my most reliable for capturing images. Fast trigger. In photo mode with 2 shot burst, I've noticed no problems with deer spooking on the IR red LEDs, and almost always get followup shots 1 minute later. Battery life is excellent.
 
Id look at homebrews in that price range. Definitely wouldnt get Chinese stuff. Like utfan said, Firemanjim builds some good ones.
 
Primos they are the best and i got the lowest cost primos cam for $99 and its better than my sniper pro that was $200
 
Moultrie I-45s or I-65s. Make soure you get the s models. They use a 2 camera system, and are very very low glow. You can get new ones on ebay for less than $200.
