Climbers are a part of a lot of us that bow hunt.

I lost my favorite climber.. the Ol Man Aluminum.

Before I bought another one, I decided to see if any new climbers were on the market today, that is a better stand.

I read through a ton of comments, and am about to order the
TreeWalker.

Anyone have one of these stands.
I have a little anxiety about this decision.

I love my Summit. This would be my next choice though if I were buying right now. There are alot of reviews on Archery Talk. The only thing negative I have read is some people complained of slow shipping or not being able to get them on the phone.

I bought one a couple of years ago. A tad pricey but comfortable. Also, heavier than I prefer (maybe because I'm 56 now) so I lock it to the tree for the season. What I don't like about it is it eats up the tree on one side...the spikes that did in are actually big screws. I hope the landowner where I hunt doesn't ever notice what it's done to that tree....

I have used the TreeWalker for the past 4 years (Saturday will start my 5th year :D).

As stated, the TW holds on to the tree like a vice. Super stable and rock solid. I am 240 lbs yet can sit in mine all day. Plenty of leg room as well. The stand is extremely light and therefore, easy to carry.

If and when I buy another treestand, it will be a TreeWalker!

I have the summit Goliath and love it.I here the TW is good but alittle heavey and like said before rips the bark of a tree after a few climbs. The summit you cant hardly tell I have been there.

Im picking one up tomorrow... they are based right near Knoxville... the reviews i have read are nothing but praise about them... from 16-19 lbs i dunno many stands that are gonna beat that in weight maybe match but few beat...

Thanks Plinker22. glad to know you have first hand experience with it.

Jeff, after you get yours home, would you please post a review also, or please shoot me a PM?
I have researched a lot of different climbers all over the net,and keep coming back the the TWalker.
Sure seems like a good choice.

I searched with the following order of importance.

1. Safe and secure.
2. Lightweight.
3. Ease, and simplicity to put up in the dark.
4. Quiet.
5. Comfort.

Hope you like it.

Your more than welcome.

Your other 5 criteria, TW fits to a T. In the quiet department, there was a little noise with the four clips that secure the cables around the tree. Mine had a tendency to make just a little squeaking noise while walking in or out of the woods... and most noticable, while climbing the tree.

I solved it by buying some industrial strength camo-pattern rubber bands. I hope the pictures below will explain how I use them. I keep them tight around the clips from truck bed to truck bed, with these bands... my TreeWalker is "deathly quiet". I think I bought them at Lowe's or Home Depot. This is a link to the ones I use, they are the 4" camo-bands. Item No: 07728c

Well i picked up my TreeWalker yesterday. I had the luxury of being able to go to the actual shop where Jeffy the owner has them and i must say WOW what a guy... Absolutely a Super Guy!! We talked for quite a while about hunting, stands, all kinds of stuff... super nice guy....

I actually went to but the Promag XLT with the removable front bar but when i talked to Jerry i simply asked him what he recommended since he was the expert on these stands... He actually sold me on the ProMag LT for what im using it for... i bow hunt out of it as well im going to gun hunt and i can add the gun rest at a later date since its already ready to screw it on... The gun rest by the way is pretty awesome and im already regretting that i did not get that model :) It is so nice because most gun rests are in a fixed position but this one you can adjust it to exactly the height that you need which makes it so nice....

The actual stand --

I was impressed with the light weight...I previously had a Cougar Claw stand and it was light but this stands just seems so well balanced it just feels lighter IMO.... this also helps in climbing because i believe that the bottom platform is the lightest part which makes it so much easier to climb with which i went out and did this morning...

Jerry said his main recommendation was to buy the Chill Pad... He said he thinks it the most important accessory with the stand so for an extra $20 i picked one up and when sitting in the Tree this morning it felt like i was in a chair... it is super comfortable.. i need to make sure i wear my harness so i dont fall asleep and roll out ;)

Most stands you have to bungie together or some other method with a strap... this stand is nice because it snugly clips together without and straps and it is tight so no worries about any metal clanging together... its a really nice feature...

The cables were a nice feature with the high vis yellow ends that always keep the hole straight when you are putting in the clips... straight in and straight out... Great Feature...

I bought the LT model because it was also 2 inches longer than the XLT as well... im 6'1 and the stand is very very roomy i was very pleased with the amount of room and comfort it had... The built in foot rest in an added bonus that i really enjoy...

I bought the bow holder with it which is a nice little feature...

Most of my other stands had a "hanging" seat which sits you lower than the actual side rails of the stand.. when you stand up its about waist level, that was the Norm for my previous stands... This stand is a level buy comfortable seat.. when you stands up the stand is now around your thighs or knees which gives you a lot more shooting room...

Overall i am thoroughly impressed with the stand.. it grips the tree very very well and with the 350 lb rating i have no worries about any problems with the stand...

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet and well built stand... Esp if you are from anywhere close to the area and can go buy and meet Jerry and look at the different stands... This is def a top notch stand and company...

Jeff,
Thanks for the details.
I liked my Ol Mal aluminum, but this stand seems like an improvement.

Clip that does away with the bungee cord..great idea
Seat height level ..great idea
Lighter weight..great idea

The ol man has tree straps that fit on the inside of the tree, which helps keep the bottom and the top from slipping.
I really hated messing with these things.

It appears the TW does not have these straps?

Can you confirm this?
I hope it doesn't,and yet it somehow keeps each in place on the tree.

It does not have the straps that u tighten up to keep it in place... the teeth do that for ya... it does have a bungie type of thing that goes around the top section of the seat that way you cant bump it off the tree by accident if you are standing etc... but it is not a pain at all... its one of those things that you say to yourself... "well isnt that a neat little invention" its so simple and works so well....

plinker22 did u really have to post the jerkey lol now these last 6 days are gonna go by so slow lol. Cant wait to kill my first with a bow this year its gonna happen and btw i own a summit climber and its great easy to opperate and is really comfortable
