Myslef, son, and two buddies made the long haul to Northwest Missourii yesterday and scouted and saw a good bit of birds..got up this morning to 20mph winds but we all went out..my son and I went to a 250acre area and set up on same field with one hen decoy out. not much gobbling right as daylight was breaking, so i hit the owl call with no response. Not two mins later a gobbler flew down out of tree I was sitting on right to the decoy. I smoked him at 45 yards with the ole 870 with federal flight control 3.5s...after that my son and I started walking/stalking bc we couldnt hear anything and as we were walking back to truck to try another area we saw a another gobbler in middle of field and sneeked up on him and shot em at 25 yards with another 870 with kicks choke and 3.5 supreme 5s...needless to say we turned a horrible day into a great one...one of my buddies also took one..cant wait to go back in morning....my bird(middle) had 1.5inch hooks, 9.5 beard, and 22lbs....my sons(right) had 1.25 hooks, 10.5 beard, and 23lbs...my buddy(left) had 1inch hooks, 9in beard, and 23lbs...thanks for read!!!
