Just ordered a Tightwad and Carlson's choke to try in my son's 20 ga 870 along with 4 boxes of Federal HW #7s. I have a Truglo SSX that produced decent results but wanna try something else as well. I've been reading a lot on Ol' Gobbler today on past posts and recommendations for the 870.

I ordered me two boxes of Longbeards a few weeks ago. I'm gonna try to pick up a Crystal Mistress call and maybe a mouth call or two so other than that, I should be ready. My season ended early last year with a broken leg so I'm ready to get out there again this year.

Man, those HW shells are expensive................... :) I may have to try one in my 870 20 ga as well. I'd love to kill a turkey with it but never patterned it with a turkey load.

I like the ssx choke it works really good with Magnum blend turkey loads. I killed a turkey stone cold dead at 40 yards with it in a 20 ga 870.

My 20 ga 870 compact does really well with the ssx and heavyweight 7s. It runs around 190-200 at 40 with that combo. Make sure to post up some comparison pics after you try the new choke.
