SUPER rusty but trying to tune up the tube call for the weekend. Literally the first call i have even gotten out at this point and had to change reeds on it. Ran out of my normals reeds so had to go with one of these. still a bit high pitched on both and have some early season squeaks as well but close to be acceptable...just 2 more days to knock the rust off. I think i like the thicker reed but still have to do some tuning on both before i can take it to the woods.

That's about 60% of where I need to be sound wise but not bad for the first time since last year. These new reeds will take some getting use to and will have to pull and stretch them to find the tones I want

Pappy over on OG makes a very very nice tube keg! My actual fav I own was made by mike yingling on OG when he made a small batch just to try out. It's very small (a lot smaller then most) but it resonates awesome.

I have 3-4 that a buddy turned for me years ago as well. Tubes are not very hard to make sound good. It's all in tuning them and using good reeds.

Sounds great! I actually PM'd Pappy today about a couple Killer Kegs and a trumpet.

I like baffled ones and generally like the .004 reeds but have some .006 and .008 I am trying out.

Ok thanks for the info. The price is the same for the baffled and non baffled just kinda searching for preferences before I order one.

Man disregard what I said!! For some stupid reason I was thinking of the lip stop. I use a NON baffled tube but I like to push a lot of air and be loud with them. If you want it to be soft then go baffled. Baffled are sometimes easier because they require less air through the reed.

Matt McLain makes a fine tune call and he is from TN Ridge...
StArted out as a hobby but quality speaks for itself... I think his calls can now be bought at Midwest turkey call supply..
He makes a fine trumpet too although I don't personally use one.
