Measured my bow and it is out of spec.

The ATA is listed as 33-3/4 to 34" My bow is 33-15/16
The brace height is listed as 7" My bow measures 6-1/2"

1. where do you measure the brace height to on the riser?
2. Which do you twist and how much to pull the ATA in almost 1/4" String or cable or both?
3. How do you know how much to twist the string vs cable etc.

I don't want to shorten the string when I should be doing the cable or vice versa.

Thanks!

You measure from the deepest part of the grip to the string for brace heght. Going by what you listed it says for you bow I wouldn't worry about the ATA. Are you taking your measurements with the limbs bottomed out?

Since my brace height is 1/2" shorter than spec, I think I need to do something.

The string is just barely in spec.

So... Do I /??

1. Add a few twists to my string?
2. Add a few twists to my cable?
3. Add a few twists to my string AND cable ?

Thanks.

What kind of bow is it? Single or hybrid cam?

If it's a hybrid cam then you can twist both cables to set ATA and BH specs then fine tune your DL with your string.

If it's a single cam you'll need to twist both your string and cables to pull the ATA down and increase BH. If you do this without backing out your limb bolts you will gain poundage.

How old is your string ? It takes quite a few twists to take up 1/2" of brace . In most cases , it's better to replace the string and cable if it's old . Take it to your local proshop and have them check it.

Thanks Radar.
I think the string is 2 years old, but the more I think about it, it may be 3 with the cable being 4yrs.

Still is in good shape but may be "shot out".

Anybody know a good proshop near Murfreesboro that works on Matthews bows?

Make the drive to Hermitage Archery (Thurs-Sat) or Archery Den in Franklin (Tues-Sat).

Jay,
Are the guys at archery den good? I can order a string off the internet and put it on myself.

Having someone who really knows their stuff tune the bow is another matter.

Thanks!
