I was on a great lease and gave it up during deer season due to to much (DRAMA) with the group on the lease.
Seems I wasn't in the good ole boy click. I guess I didnt meet their requirments of pay full price and only hunt two or three times a year like most of the other rich guys on the lease. For me if i am paying I am wearing the place out. Hunting is my livelihood.
Needless to say I was worried I was not going to be able to get out Turkey hunting this year.
I put my name in the pot for a Turkey hunt in several of the WMAs here and, I found out today I was selected for Meeman Shelby Forest. It is an awsome place to hunt Turkeys from what I hear. I have saw several groups there while deer hunting so (it is on now). Plenty of scouting ahead.
Too bad the hunt is only for 3 days of the season but, hey better than nothing. Gotta do my home work now.
Anyone else have a good place to hunt Turkeys in the Memphis area let me know. I'd b glad to even go call for someone that has never been if you have the place to go. I just like being in the woods and having the experiences.
