Has anyone done any turkey hunting out at the Percy Priest WMAs? I know that there is alot of land in Lavergne, but I have never heard if there are gobblers there. I have seen turkey on the banks of the lake while fishing, but none in that area.

It's a crazy place to hunt. People all over the place and some I dont exactly feel safe in the woods with, but I will probably be one of the masses too. Good luck and think safety first!!

What about not around the WMA in Lavergne? There is alot of public hunting land around the lake it looks like any spots that might be good and not so crowded?

Depends on your definition of crowded but I would say that it's all crowded, islands included. But if you take into consideration the number of people who live within 45 minute drive of PP what would you expect. Your talking well over 1 million people within that range, but there are still deer and turkeys and the fishing is great for the amount of pressure on the lake.

Access and traffic are major issues. If you have a boat, you could access a lot of land that way. The traffic is not just from hunters. I had a group of folks riding horses try to chase my decoys one day. Over the last 2 seasons, I have yet to score but I plan to continue trying.
