I just checked the TWRA harvest report online at the link below and see that there have been two turkeys check out since the statewide season closed on Sunday, May 13th, one in Obion county on Monday and one in Rutheford county on Tuesday. They show up in the "county" harvest, so it is not a WMA hunt. Do you suppose TWRA will be paying these folks a visit??? What if you shot one late on Sunday and didn't find it until Monday or Tuesday, would you still check it in?

Something to consider here. I know for certain that there are still some check stations throughout the state that still check in big game the old way (paper version with carbon copy). It is my understanding the county game wardens pick these paper kill tags up and input the data into the database at some point later. A check station I use in Perry county does it this way. This could possibly be some of the strange data you speak of (harvest data showing up after the season closes). I could be mistaken, but I offer this up for consideration.

Could be a typo or someone might have put the wrong date in on a paper check in tag.

No telling.

Wasn't me, I didn't check the bird in I killed the other day in Obion County. ..................... ;)

That was a joke. :D

Another possibility is that here in Obion County things are just behind period.
Mail, technology, people in general etc. :D
