Not a biologist but turkey numbers seem to be on the decline around my hometown. Just haven't seen the number that these places have had in the past seasons. Hamilton and Bradley counties have never had the numbers like some western counties. Just curious if anyone else is seeing this also.

Honestly, numbers seem up this year compared to the last two years. But still early and will get a better idea as the season progresses

Saw 4 long beards last year and 9 jakes. Haven't seen a single Jake this year but last years jakes are now plentiful around here.

We had a good hatch 2 years ago on several of my farms. Paid off this year. Terrible hatch this year, only saw 6 jakes total scattered across 2500 acres. But was most bothersome was the lack of hens. We almost saw more toms than hens this year.

Seems about normal in the places I've been this year. I've hunted 4 counties so far and scouted a few others. From what I can tell there was a good hatch last year.

I got permission on some private land that abuts public and the birds have been in the area but I found it later in the season last year, and this year early I saw 9 toms (after i killed one) and 2 jakes. My brothers place was way up. I saw turkeys scouting (though my last run through area lots of hunter sign and not so much turkey). I haven't checked the other areas I scouted preseason,. because the areas I have been hunting has held birds. Nephew and I went to his GF's father land 4-5 toms gobbling, good amount of hens and 3 jakes.

So for me (this season) way up, but that is a function of where I am hunting. I know that I have had areas absolutely decimated and turkeys are few and far between.
