I really hate to be that guy, and I know how bad it sucks but it really is bittersweet to see some of the guys on here, in an all out teeth chattering panic over population declines.

These were the same guys that poked and laughed, and really had a big time over some of my post, even up to a couple years ago.

Something needs to be done, I agree, but welcome to reality fellows. And just think if you can go out and hear a bird or 2 gobbling you still have it better than southern Lawrence County. If you think it's bad now it's only gonna get worse.

For the ones proposing a limit reduction, I can tell you with all out assurance, that absolutely nothing will be done until statewide harvest declines for 5 years straight.

That's what we were told in Lawrence County anyway, they didn't see that we had a problem until we had significant decline 5 years running, even though now 95% of the harvest comes from the northern 1/3 part of the county.

I complained the year after the limit was raised. Ur preaching to the choir rock. i was called a sucky turkey hunter because there was absolutely nothing wrong with the population. I guess as long as it's not affecting your area no worries. There is hope in Hardin county this year our numbers were as good as they have been in a long time. Not as good as pre limit change but getting. I'm hopeful if we can have couple more good hatches in the upcoming years it will only keep improving. Funny thing about the decline is I never saw a decline in gobblers but hens became scarce as hens teeth
