Got a late start due to a fight with the alarm clock, but finaly got in the woods about 8 or so, As I was walking down the log road I try to hunt I seen the darndest thing I come around blind curve and thier in the middle of the road is this big ol long beard on this hen facing away so I thought to myself I will try and shoot that ol dude right off the top of her he was no more than say 20 yards chip shot,,,, so I thought,,,, I ease around to bust him by this time he is facing me 1 second later hes airborne headed to the next county, first time to actually see them mate in the wild. I also a silver colored hen Great morning no gobbles!!
 
You wouldnt have done such a thing! How could you? The sportsman thing to do would at least let him do his business. I had one at ten yds., several years ago breeding a hen, looking dead at me the whole time. He was looking right down the barrel of my 10 ga., and never noticed me. I was kinda embaressed, so I tried to look the other way till he was done, then I sent him home. Same happened last year, had one at twenty yds., he finished, stepped off, and went right back to full strut, and he also went home. At least They carried on the blood lines!
