All,

As I posted yesterday, we were fortunate enough to take 2 birds yesterday.

My wife is wanting to try some different receipe.

Anyone willing to share their favorite choice of preparing turkey?

Grilled Turkey Kabobs:

Cut breast into small chunks.

Soak in Dale's (either the regular or if you don't like that strong of a taste, the low sodium works well also) for 3-4 hrs (I always put it together at lunch for an evening meal).

Cut onion and/or mushrooms and soak them also.

Skewer up when ready to grill.

They are great and my whole family loves them. Been doing it this way for several years, and wife and girls would kill me if I suggested something different.

Heres an odd one that is better than it sounds. Cranberry Crockpot Turkey:

1 half turkey breast,
1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix (Im cheap and make my own)
1 can cranberry sauce
Preparation:

Place the turkey in the Crock Pot. Mix together cranberry sauce and soup mix and pour over turkey.
Cook on high for 2 hours, then on low for 6 to 7 hours.
The quicker way (my favorite) is to cook it in my electric pressure cooker for about an hour and a half.

Remove from the pot and slice and cover with the sauce. YUMMY!

2 hours on the smoker at 225 degrees, apple for your wood. No marinade, no rub, no bs.

Doesn't get any easier or better IMO

cut into 1 1/2" cubes and marinate with salt/pepper/garlic powder, thyme/rosemary and drizzle with olive oil and let that marinate at least 4-6 hoursovernight or 24 hours is better. Cook on the grill using indirect heat, hickory or apple chip smoke will add to it and then lightly drizzle with balsamic vinegar the last few minutes.

Marinate in Italian dressing and black pepper for 24 hrs. Wrap in bacon and throw on the grill.

Also, tried one from here last year if you like a sweet taste. I don't remember the exact ratio but roll in flour and powdered sugar and then deep fry.

Those legs and thighs are right'good too...even from an old ridge runner. Slow boil or crockpot with a medium sized quartered onion, 2 good tablespoons of olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic till it falls off the bone. Remove the bone and "spindles" then chop to go into Alfredo, turkey salad, or spaghetti.

There were a lot of years back in the day I didn't fool with them but now that I know better ain't got no reason to tell you a stretcher...done right they are as good as any store-bought bird legs.

Cut it to small chunks. Fry with whatever seasoning you want. Cook some bacon. Put both in a tortilla shell with cheese and toast in a skillet. Awesome quesadillas!!
