When I got home this evening I decided to make a quick scouting trip to a farm close to my house. I saw two LBs, one alone and one with a hen. They were in a spot I intend to bowhunt.
I don't even scout the property I hunt any more . I just setup my blind a day or two before the opener and start calling on opening morning . They are there every year.
Rich stuck one yesterday , but it took off running up a ridge before I could pounce on it . I think he winged it . I was bummed . We thought the bird was done as it quit moving , then as I approached , it's head was up and it took off when I got close . I almost caught that sucker.
