Excellent...I'll reference this if I get a chance at a turkey hunt.

copy the images to a folder in your documents and you will have them anytime you are ready.
about every other month I will clean my photobucket account of any pictures that are about 2 months old unless I know they are still being looked at.

I have used those pictures for reference . The broadside shot placement is deadly . I aim for the small brown patch of feathers you can see below the dot .
That shot takes out both hips , so they can't fly or run . It's deadly.

Does that shot kill him quick or anchor him for you to wring his neck?

It kills them quick too. The vitals on a Turkey are located farther back than most hunters realize. Here is a link to the actual thread where these pictures originated from, with an explanation for each shot placement.

Yep, those lemon size vitals are just above and just forward of where the drumsticks connect. I made a laminated card with shot placements when I first started turk hunting with a bow. Here's something I posted on the turkey forum.

If you plan on using a bow you really have to study the entire anatomy and bone structure of a turkey to determine your best shot opportunity at any given time. Vitals are located differently and are of course much much smaller than a deer. The shot options I strive for are straight up the legs just above and just a little forward of where they connect to the body (vitals/legs), base of the wing, bulleye/butt shot straight away (backbone/vitals), base of the beard facing directly toward(backbone/vitals), or head shot. Internal vitals are about the size of a lemon. You can take out their running gear or flying gear with good shot placment. Turkeys have alot of breast meat where some folks think the internal vitals are located, but they are actually farther back. If you look at the entire structure of a turkey you can find more shot options that will bring him down. Unlike deer, turkey bones are fairly easily penetrated with and broadheaded arrow.

Again eddie c, thanks for the informative post.
