I got permission to hunt a farm in chapel hill and I'm planning on hunting there the next couple of mornings,I was just wondering what the turkeys were doing in that area, if someone could give me an update I'd appreciate it.

Not sure about chapel hill but the ones in deason are really pissing me off lol. But seriously , i go through the eagleville and triune area daily , which is a stones throw away , and im seeing tons of strutters with tons of hens.

yeah hoping to hunt with burd this spring been trying to make it happen for a year now but I can't seem to get down ther e often enough.

ZCM the turkeys are getting "RIGHT" here in Chapel Hill. They have been vocal on roost and pretty vocal when they are on the ground. I've been seeing a lot more lone hens the last week so that is a plus. I think we are over the hump of hened up gobblers and they will be looking. The two guys I took last weekend both killed birds on Sat. and Sunday. Now this is just what I have experienced TurkeyBurd could say the total opposite. Good luck to you. If I can be of anymore help just ask.

Thanks wingnut. Couldn't seal the deal this morning, worked a bird till about 8:30 but he never would leave them hens. I had him at about 65 yards at one time but I didnt feel comfortable with the shot the way I was set up. Going back again in the morning to see what we can do

Thanks guys, rockhound what are your turkeys doing here in Lawrence?

Absolutely squat! i havent heard em gobble since opening day but i did manage to slip up on one strutting the other day but never got close enough to kill. I know there are 3 gobblers using on our place, but im only averaging a sighting about once a week and then it may just be a lone hen, I cant figure them out
