I have had a lease in Henderson County for four years. The first two years we had it, there were turkeys everywhere. I saw many gobblers and had a strong hen population. They drained a lake behind the property and for the past two years I haven't seen a turkey. Would draining the lake have something to do with this? Also, what can I do to bring them back? It is all hardwoods with only 1 area to plant a food plot which is about 1/2 an acre.

There is a stream that runs through the entire property and empties into the lake. I forgot to mention that the lake was refilled this year. They drained it to fix the levy. I hope they start coming back around. This isn't my only place to hunt but it's nice having a few areas that way you don't have to put too much pressure on the birds.

I wouldn't worry to much about til season if you don't have birds then I would worry. Like said above it does and doesn't matter. Sense it has a stream I doubt it made a huge difference. As said I bet someone is throwing a little yellow gold or wheat out for them.
