I agree, and losing her job may be a little too harsh.
It's just that state agencies have no business commenting on other state entities. Seriously doubt that she, nor her bosses, would have been too pleased if Fulmer tweeted about some of their failures.
Plus, her being a Bama grad, should at least, get her a stern reprimand!

I'd be curious if it came from higher-ups in the agency, or if some calls were made from outside applying pressure.
Whatever the circumstances, the point was made and it was inappropriate.
