What in the world is going on with the Turkey permits?
I have my results printed out showing my hunt I drawn, but now your webpage says no application found?? I guess I just need my printout showing what I got drawn for right? Whats going on?

Yes it did, im sitting here looking at my printed results, "awarded" would be the word TWRA used for my successful drawing! Seriously what are they trying to pull?? TWRA, anybody?????

It was all a very very vivid dream. Strange several of us had the exact same dream on the exact same day. Weird...

Here is an update from TWRA turkey biologist, Gray Anderson. Note that he is only giving his opinion, nothing "official"!

A news release went out today saying the hunt status will be ready on March 15th. There was no mention of the "little mishap" - which I think there should have been. This is also not being made public but I think hunters should know - if you were drawn and want to keep those hunts you should contact quota hunts in the agency. There is strong potential to make those "bad" hunts into "good" hunts - similar to what happened on the last fiasco. Except we know who was drawn and posted incorrectly. So if you have a legitimate claim call us but you will be crossed referenced.

I'll post more as I learn more.

We appreciate your doing so. Looks like you are the only one who is!

What we can't explain is how/why that data was posted prematurely. It should have never been there and the agency did not know it was there until hunters told us about it. From your description, it appears that Daryl attempts to explain the difference between a test draw and a final draw - which IMO is not the issue that is the problem (a "final draw" may not be "final" if an error is found [then another "final draw" is conducted]) - the problem is data showed up on the internet when it should not have been there (regardless of if the draw was test or final) - that is what is unexplainable and ultimately the problem.

Please see my response to Sackett about getting folks squared up that may have already made plans based on this info.

No strife here - people need to get this info.

I appreciate the honesty from these 2 atleast. If you screw up just admit it and make it right, no need for a sham!

Wow, some good communication. Problem is I have tried to contact the quota office and they won't respond to me or anyone else I know.

Anyone else tried to no avail?

I fall into a category of making arrangements based on the drawings I saw.

ALso, with that explanation, I can see where the screw up happened. If results were posted prior to being screened for errors, then problems naturally might arise. It would have helped to have some of this info made public earlier, and it would have certainly quelled the anger from the people who applied.
