Vandy fired their women's BB coach after a suspended season and having many players transfer out of the program over recent years
They hired Shea Ralph, a 13 year UConn assistant coach and former player to be their next head coach.
She intends to rebuild their team and to get the Vandy womens basketball program back on track.
Her husband was an assistant with the Vanderbilt womens basketball team from 2009-2015. and became the women's basketball coach at UMass Lowell.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets hired to be her assistant,
She needs to attract some transfer players to replace those that Vandy lost.
Shea is a native of NC.

Shea didn't want to talk about it at the press conference when she was asked, but the next day it was reported that she was hiring her husband to be her assistant.
He's a former NBA player, and he reportedly quit his head coaching job at UMass Lowell where he was earing close to $165K per year.
However I haven't found it reported anywhere else.

Do you think that Shea will be able to put together a team that will be good enough to compete with UT and if so, how long will it take?

With the new NCAA transfer rule it will be interesting to see if she can attract quality players right away or not.
 
There's 900 players in the womens transfer portal.
Here's a junior player that averaged 18 points per game for Bradley that entered the portal 5 days ago along with her sister.
"Lasha Petree, a 6-footer from Detroit, led Bradley with 18.0 points per game in '20-21 and had 63 blocks on the season. She departs as a two-time first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference selection."

2 years ago as a freshman, she helped win a come from behind game for Bradley by making 3 steals and scoring 4 three pointers and a free throw in 46 seconds.
